What professionals are saying about this course
I already know the yoga sutras of Patanjali and I need to be certified in order to teach these courses. Brijendra’s course is very beautiful and wonderful, each paragraph is a sutra in itself. In fact, I’ve never read a similar course. It’s explained in the light of our modern life and accessible to everybody. Indeed, my knowledge helped me to grasp directly the content (with its Sanskrit words) but it’s really a transcendental course. — Walid Haddad, Vincennes, France
Brijendra has been my teacher of the the Patanjali Sutras since 1987. On one of his extremely successful and profound world tours, he visited South Florida where he presented at the Meditation Center in Delray Beach. At that time, I was the director of the Center and sponsor of this event. It was a full house and all who attended just reveled in the awareness, depth of knowledge and space of samaadhi (perfect meditation) that was experienced by all.
Now this same experience is available while listening to these audio recordings. How I wish I had that opportunity when I was living in the West, rather then having to take so much time to study various different written, sometimes confusing, editions of Patanjali’s work on my own. Listening to these recordings with closed eyes, I not only developed a clearer and deeper understanding of this system of Yog but I also experienced the spaces of meditation that were being spoken about. — Sherrie Wade, MA Licensed Mental Health Counselor
The Essence of Patanjali Course has been a true gift for me. I feel fortunate studying it. The audio albums and graphic charts have helped to appreciate the manual. — Renate Podhorecka, West Hartford, CT
Please note that in our courses we use a system of spelling Sanskrit and Hindi words which makes the pronunciation of these words easier for an English speaker. However, on our website we accommodate some of the prevalent spelling of Sanskrit words so that people who search for yogic terms on the internet can find our website.
To render the exact pronunciation of Sanskrit words in using the English alphabet is not actually possible. In the spelling system used in our courses, we do not follow the prevalent practice of adding an a to the end of all words. An obvious example of this is our spelling of the word yog (pronounced with the o rhyming with o in flow) for which the prevalent spelling is yoga. Also, long vowels are spelled with double letters such as aa or ee or oo. Therefore we write sootra (oo rhyming with u in true) rather than sutra.
